Oh, México!! (MEH-hee-ko)

As a wedding gift from my in-laws, Dusty and I spent our honeymoon living like royalty on the Yucatán Peninsula.

We stayed at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya, located roughly between Cancún and Playa del Carmen. I wrote a review for TripAdvisor.com under the title “A New Bride's Experience at the Grand Mayan”.

"Edificio Ocho" (building eight) is where we lived for a week. It was a half-mile walk from our room to the beach, but that didn't phase us mountain folk in the least!

We booked a bus tour that took us through the colonial town of Villadolid, dropped us off to swim in the sacred blue cenote called Ik Kil, and later took us to wander around the ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá!

Happily Ever After

My sweetheart and I were married on June 6th, 2008.

It was the perfect wedding! We exchanged our vows in a meadow next to Manitou Lake in Pike National Forest near Woodland Park, Colorado.

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us, it was a memorable time!
